Is this important?

I recieved a letter saying that I was selected as a delagate to represent my school at the Congress of Future Science and Technology leaders. It said I would recieve “the inscribed National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence.” It also said that this was “highly selective” and would make me more competitive in college admissions.

My Questions:
Is this bull or is this actually a good award?
Is this worth my time?
Would this have any affect in college admissions?

Also, it costs 985 for tuition or 1585 for tuition and overnight program.

Every year we get posters asking this question. This is not going to help you with college admissions. Run a search of the program on this website.

I’d put the money towards tutoring for the SAT or for classes.

My daughter got a similar one for “future medical students.” I think it’s just a moneymaking venture that will do nothing to prepare your kid for college or give them a leg up.
