Is it possible to major in history and biology (to become a teacher) and minor in something like international relations? What combinations are possible? I'm not knowledgeable on the subject and cannot find anything to clarify my questions.

Binghamton allows you to either double major within one school (i.e. Harpur, Watson, etc.) or earn a double degree – a degree from two different schools. I suppose you could minor in a third discipline.

My daughter is a double major in biology and history with a minor in environmental science. So it certainly is done. She doesn’t go to Binghamton, however.

International relations is a concentration within the political science major at Binghamton. You have to major in Poli Sci (I believe) to do it.

But as hudsonvalley51 said, it is certainly possible to double major in two “unrelated” fields. I have a friend who is majoring in biology and poli sci, and another who’s majoring in biology and philosophy, politics, and law.

The only problem with double majoring, is that it can make getting a degree longer (timewise and requirement wise) to attain.
