does anyone know if it is possible to double minor and if so how difficult it is?

Yeah it is, and it totally depends on your major, schedule, and which minors. Minoring in two things that have 2 or 3 classes that overlap (like I believe Bio and Chem do, but I’m not sure) makes it pretty simple. Some people just have room in their schedule-- before becoming an econ/math dual major I was going to have two minors in math and international affairs.

Try to take core classes that fit in subjects you’d be interested in for a minor, if you really care about it. So if you need a humanities core and you think you’d like a history minor, take a history class as your core.

Honestly though, no one cares about your minors. Apart from getting a minor as a sort of concentration (which some majors have), the only times minors count are when they prove you are capable in something. Getting a computer science or english or business minor are really great because they show you can use computers, can write, and can understand business. Being a history major with a minor in biology?.. At the very most a future employer will say “Oh, why’d you do that?”. So don’t get two minors because you really want to put down two minors on your diploma or resume. Unless you REALLY want them, you should focus more on taking classes that you are interested in or that you think will help you later on. You don’t have to be an english minor to take some writing courses, for example.

i was only considering double minors because my interests are very spread out. right now i’m planning on majoring in international affairs but was maybe hoping down the road to minor in business and/or journalism. if i do decide to double minor would i have to do one less co-op or anything like that or would it pretty much work right into my schedule (i’m planning on doing honors as well)?

It should work into your schedule. I’m a Chemical Engineering major dual minoring in biology and materials science

Try to take classes that satisfy a lot of different things. So take honors courses that satisfy core reqs. You just have to be very careful with planning your classes. And if you’re doing IAF, you have to spend a semester (or two half semesters) abroad, and some of those schools might not have precisely the classes you need.

A’ight, so you can see that there is overlap between all the reqs, so just plan this strategically. Additionally, for honors, you need 6 honors courses, one of which is Enhancing Honors (1x/week, taken in addition to the 4 courses you take in a semester) and an honors seminar (haven’t taken this yet, so I’m not familiar with it).

Just plan carefully. Let me know if you need any further explanation!
