Is it possible to skip 4 years of college entirely and go directly to medical school because my father is harping about some friend of his whose son is in Kansas attending medical school on the basis of his SAT Score, he apparently didn't even take the MCAT. Is this ever possible today? I mean I'm really irritated right now because I don't think so and feel that his friend is just an idiot.

um.....yeah.....on the basis of his SAT score? thats funny...hemay have gotten into a combined medical program..but he cant go directly to medical school

whats a combined medical program?

If all it took to get into medical school was a 2400 on the s.a.t., I'd fear for my life everytime I walked into a clinic and/or hospital.

yes it's possible. there is this thing called the 7-year dual med program and basically if you get into it then you dont have to take the MCAT.

He got into a combined med program which is 7 years then you're done...it's pretty hard to get into such programs but definitely not impossible. It certainly doesn't take a 2400.

Actually...University of Missouri Kansas City has a 6 year med program without an MCAT...so that probably was what he was talking about. You quickly start the program at the med school with a doctor/rotation and everything.

The app is actually due tomorrow :)
