An alternative to bs/md?

i was thinking about this, but couldnt any college you go to be an accelerated program? If you complete all your credits early enough and do the MCATS, you could finish college by junior or mid-way senior year, and then go into medicine?

can someone like validate this, or tell me a story of someone who did this?

lol me. I'm at pennstate w/ enough credits and applying to med school early.

honestly desiguerilla, if you enter a good state college w/ credits and maintain a high gpa, you're a shoe in anywhere. You really don't need a bs/md program if you have the motivation.

My brother finished up degree and requirements and entered med school at what would be after junior year. I don't think you could start mid year (ie Jan)

It's possible. I know many who finish a year ahead and enter medical school in what should be there senior year in college (nothing new). Moreover, many schools have a pseudo BA/MD program, in which you get accepted after Sophomore year in college and complete studies a year earlier. You may want to look into such schools.

yeah you def. can, but the only extra guarantee that bs or ba/md programs give you is that your into a med school, you dont have to take the gamble of hoping to get into one after junior year. you also dont have to keep up the highest GPA in a program, you just have to stay above the limit they give you, and same goes for the MCAT, dont have to score the highest just above what the program asks for......but i just realized that wasn't your question so i dont feel like deleting everything i just typed.....instead i'll just say yeah i know a couple of people who did that, they got into good med schools too. so yes, people do it. I dont know this for a fact, but i think some med schools look down on it because of the whole 'maturity factor' crap or what not, thats just my assumption but i'd try it, if it fails iall you have to do is take a year off and apply as a senior like the original plan....no loss.
