Is this schedule rigorous?

Would colleges such as UC Berkeley and Univ. Illinois at Urbana consider this junior year class schedule as rigorous? I’m planning on majoring in engineering.

Honors English 11
AP Government
AP Physics 1
AP Chemistry
Pre-Calculus
Spanish
Web design 1 and 2 (I learned HTML,CSS,and jQuery in this class)

Would you be able to take ap Lang/ ap lit instead of honors English?? And if your an engineering major could you do honors math? But yes I think that is a good schedule. 3 APs and 1 honors is a good balance I think.

Good luck!

I second @pologirl13‌ , maybe you should look into taking AP Lang instead of honors it really isn’t such a big difference except for the AP test in May but you should be well prepared for it by the time it rolls around. Typically juniors take APUSH instead of AP Gov, have you taken this yet? If not I would suggest doing that and then taking AP Gov in senior year or maybe doubling up on social studies classes if your schedule permits. I would only suggest that you take AP Chemistry if you have previously taken chem honors if not you should reconsider. Finally, what level of Spanish are you?

At my school sophomores take APUSH and juniors take AP gov or AP econ. I am in Spanish 3.

In my opinion drop web design and take up another AP. First of all web design comes off as a rather easy class, and unless you are using those skills to actively develop software and websites to put on your extracurriculars you might as well take up another AP.

What’s in-state for you? Keep in mind that you’d have to pay 55k out of pocket (no financial aid) for UCs, and 50K (also out of pocket, no financial aid) for UIUC. Have you talked with your parents about how much they can afford?
It’s good to think of your schedule, but if you can’t afford to go, it’s pointless to set your schedule according to 2 specific, and different, universities.

UCs will count specific Honors and a total of 8 APs (for grades 10-11) if you are a California resident. If you’re not, only AP classes are counted toward your UC GPA. For UCB, UCLA, and UCSD, the UC GPA needs to be above 4.

= good schedule, but AP English Lang would be better for the UCs since Honors don’t “count” if you’re OOS.

I will be moving to California next year, so I will be a resident.

You need to live there for 12 months and graduate high school, OR live for 12 months and work, PLUS have a parent who lives in CA, before you’re considered a resident.

I will have lived there for 12 months and graduated high school.

okay then, you’re good for residency. (I had to ask, because many students assume they will automatically become residents after the first year…)
