For what? What have your previous grades been? What colleges do you want to attend?
My junior schedule is
Honors Physics
AP English
Pre-Calc
Honors Anatomy
AP US history
AP Biology
AP Computer Science
My grades are just alright A’S B’sand one C this semester…I want to attend Monterrey Institute of Higher Education. I want to really challenge myself junior year so I want to know if this schedule is challenging
My two Web Design classes are mandatory because I go to a career tech school.
I would says yours is challenging probably a 7-8. Maybe take AP US history to make it more impressive.
Thank you. The thing is I really don’t like history too much and the upperclassmen said our teacher is the worst. Is Honors U.S history bad though?
Definitely above the norm of an average American, LOL.
In terms of rigor, I would give it a B. Taking both Spanish and English (especially AP) is a tough and prestigious thing to do. Before you register for APUSH though, I would check if Monterrey accepts AP credit. Keep Spanish and English AP regardless though, that will probably impress them. Rest of your courses are good too.
I already checked and they don’t. They also do not accept AP Spanish or English but I am still taking them to prepare myself.
During my senior year I plan on taking 3 more AP classes which are AP psychology ( which they do accept), AP English literature, and AP statistics.
Why do you want to attend Monterey?
In any case, plan to apply to several colleges - 2 safeties you like and can afford, a handful of matches, then as many reaches as you wish or can afford.
Your schedule is perfectly fine. You’ll have 5 APs by the end of senior year, plus a mostly Honors/AP/Academically challenging classes. You have all 5 core classes colleges want to see (English, Math, Social Science, Science, and Foreign Language) and you added a personal touch with Web Design.
Even though my cum GPA is 2.7 if I get all A’S or a few B’s, colleges would like it? no C’S and D’s
Will I have a chance of being accepted to colleges since I am taking challenging courses and succeed in junior year?
Obviously colleges would prefer your having all A’s and B’s and no C’s (D and F = causes for being rescinded, meaning even if you got in, you lose your spot. Happens every year).
2.7 is a B-. There are plenty of colleges that would admit you.
Thank you!
