Its on the website above...anyone applying?
i dunno if its legit, b/c you have to pay $3.50- i no its little, but i just want to make sure

bumpppppppppp

"who's who..." is a bunch of crap

besides, you should never have to pay to apply for a scholarship

actually sometimes (rarely) you have to pay $3 for shipping and handling...i havent done those though. but i agree that who's who is BOOTY!

What about Newyork Education Foundation Scholarship? application fee is $20! another scam?

if you look at the original post, and follow the link, it's to "the educational communications scholarship" -different name, since it's not "who's who among american hs students." however, the website makes it appear affiliated. so, trustworthy or not?

ya i was wondering about the same thing gandalf said....anyone no abt the ny education foundation scholarship>>??

holy crap, i actually emailed a lady for an application for the the "educational communications scholarship". she ended up emailing me back the application. i found the schlarship in a texas sholarship compendium that comes out every year to hs counselors, so it might actually be legit.

the whos who app looks almost identical to the "educational..." one, with the same fee.

whos who IS the ecsf one. its run through whos who. its legit, but i think its pretty much random who gets it. and since anyone who got into whos who can apply for it, theres tons of people who apply.

A family member paid $14 to apply for a legitimate scholarship - the Carpe Diem Foundation - and won $5,000 a year for four years, total of $20,000. This year's winners were from Harvard, Stanford, Georgetown, etc.

Never say never!

I would not suggest that you apply for who's who. I don't think that it is legit.

It's legit as in it exists. However, the who's who award means nothing, and the ECSF scholarship is pretty much random.

Yes, It is for real. Kid got $1000 in freshman year ( 3 years ago). I think the fee was miniscle in comparison to alot of his other fees. Hounded him to get it in and he did it to get me off the case. Got his picture in book and the blurb. Everyone who submits gets a blurb, keep to only the facts, no embelishments or wordy essays. Interesting to see what other kids think of themselves. There are, if I remember, 4-6 geographic regions that the book publishes in, with each book a few hundred pages of fine paper. All nicely done too. You Do Not have to buy the book to be a winner.

I believe at the time 30 scholarships paid directly to the school you attend. If you win, you will be notified by a simple, 1 page, double spaced letter, that looks looks like advertisement. We very nearly threw it away.

Dug up the book. There were 200, $ winners in 2002. Minimum award $1000.
Worth a shot for $3.50. Took kid only 10 minutes to fill form out.

I have a question for anyone who is applying for this scholarship. Under the part about financing your education, what are you supposed to put under scholarship amount and financial aid amount? I have not received this information and the scholarship application is due by February 1. Any suggestions??

put down what have now.

icarus - love the username...is it based on the band or the story

Thank you :) - i take my sn from Ovid's Metamorphoses since I love ancient history and literature, especially when read in the original Latin. (unfortunately, I don't know enough ancient Greek)
