Is this school worth the wait?

Okay, it’s now April 2nd. I haven’t heard one peep from CPP about getting accepted and I am seriously considering my other schools because there’s a May 1st deadline, even at my OOS private school. I hate making decisions before knowing if I got in or not as a transfer student, but I feel like there’s a lot of things coming up this month and on the matter of schools I need to have this settled. How long do you think I should wait to see if I get accepted to this school? I know I have to confirm my acceptance through my OOS by snail mail, so what? 2 weeks? I wish they would just let me know if I was accepted or not already because then I could make a serious decision between the two.

I applied to a non-impacted major (applied math).

First of all, let’s start with the OOS snail mail acceptance to establish how much time you have. Does your acceptance have to be received by May 1st? Or would it be sufficient to have it postmarked by May 1st? If it’s the latter then you have quite a bit more time. Even so, if you needed to it’s entirely possible to overnight correspondence to a location far far away.

Second: I totally understand dude. Seriously, I get it completely. Waiting blows chunks. You just want to find out, make a decision, and get on with your life, right? I’m in the same boat… waiting. Now then, the positive is that there is still nearly a month until your acceptance needs to be confirmed. Quite a lot can happen in that period of time and I suspect that CPP is well aware of the May 1st deadline as quite a few schools share that deadline. I would assume that they’re doing their best to let people know as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, as I’m sure you’re aware, their budget has been destroyed, so it might take awhile.

Have you called them yet to pester them for information? Try and get someone to actually look at your file and give you some real answers. Don’t let the student workers brush you off with, “They’re sending out decisions all the time. Everything should be done by this date.”

Hang in there.

Im also thinking about the same - I remember going to the Admissions office to drop my transcripts, people in there looked like they didn’t know what to do with so many people calling them. Maybe they are too disorganized.
