AP Language & Composition
AP Spanish Language
AP Environmental Science
AP Economics (Macro & Micro)

I'm still contemplating on whether to take AP Econ or not. Many say it is the hardest class in my school next to AP Calc. I did well in AP US Gov & Politics this year and some say that Econ is similar in style. Would it be too much in addition to those listed before it?

I'm comfortable with AP Language (I'm an English person) and AP Spanish. Though AP Enviro is generally considered one of the easier AP classes, people at my school seem to hate it. I'm just taking it because I'm more interested in the environment than biology or chemistry. I despise Physics.

So what do you guys think? Should this schedule be manageable with AP Economics? Thanks for the input!

P.S.- My other scheduled classes are Statistics I & II, Creative Writing, Public Speaking, Personal Finance, and Business Communication. If I do not take AP Econ I will take Recent American History and Sociology (each a semester course).

I can give you a bit insight on AP Econ. In my opinion, Econ is not hard, I got a 5 on microeconomics without actually studying for the AP exam itself and for tests in class I just read over my notes and I can get 100 without a curve. Economics is very logic based (very easy “logic”) some people can’t seem to grasp it but the concepts are very intuitive which means it shouldn’t be a time drain. However, since you are taking both AP Econ classes (one semester each I assume) then the class would be a bit harder, but from my opinion it is not something terrifying.

On a side note, economics has little to do with government. Macroeconomics has overlap between 3/20 chapters in the ap govt textbook that we use and micro has none

It’s a shame you don’t like physics, I can’t understand why anyone would dislike physics. AP Econ is very manageable. It is straightforward and on the AP level it’s not very computational as it would be in a college setting, it’s more about simple reasoning. There is barely any mathematics, but this at times can be more difficult because it requires some analytical thinking, but it’s nothing too bad.

It should be useful and fun so I would encourage you to take it.

Okay that’s good to hear. I’m actually starting to look forward to the class…thank you!
