Is this somthing negative in application?

As I was enrolling for the Barack Obama campaign, I decided to put my volunteer hours in my app, is this somthing negative to have? I am not sure but I also put it in my scholarship applications. Is it ok to show you have a political side?

Not only is in okay, I believe it to be an excellent thing to do. Not matter which political party you are involved in, it shows a level of commitment that I think Barnard's adcom will appreciate.

Good for you! (Even though I personally will not vote for your guy :) )

DD worked for dems and worked at a fundraiser attended by Hillary years ago. Discussed in her application. She was admitted and attends. Hm. Adversary! (Just kidding.)

I did not mean to take a side or anything or in hope that the school will support him, Barack:)! but even in scholarship applications, I feel that if i have dedicated myself to phone calling, rallying and even fundraising, I hope that they atke that into consideration andd not be biased at the present cirmcunstances.

Hey, tht is so cool!

I feel fairly certain they wouldn't. Don't worry.

I wrote about my work for Hillary; I really wouldn't worry. Your political involvement shows that you are engaged and I imagine just like schools can't discriminate in the basis of religion, they wouldn't do so on the basis of political affiliation.

Er, you are talking about attending college at the university where Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was invited to speak last semester.... I don't think you can shock them with a quote from Che Guevara.

Haha, I'd have to agree with the above post!

Banard =/= Columbia

Yes, one of my applications was sent to Columbia. As much as an enemy people may see him as, I belief that we grow through siiting down with our opponent, we learn and try to gain peace by speaking and not avoiding.

lorie2690: If you mean me, I was kidding because of the Hillary/Obama split.

No its, ok, myth, I meant to talk about the Barnard=Columbia connection, and mahmoud's visit. I am catually absolutely fine with your opinion, I must even thank you for replying!

I replied to Calmom.........

Er, you are talking about attending college at the university where...

Calmom got it exactly right.

Well, one's opinion can not completely grade or rate a school. The lack of facing and consulting with the opponent has been going on too much in this country!

But thanks for responding!

If you want to shock the admissions committee talk about the time you spent volunteering for Focus on the Family. The won't even notice Che.

HAHA props to Mardad's comment.
