<p>My counselor said that college 1 on common app can see that I am applying to college2,3,and 4 and vice versa. She said that this can be damaging to apply to higher caliber schools,say I'm applying to 3 ivies and then your non-ivy league schools will see that you are applying to those and then not want to admit you. So can the colleges see what other schools you are applying to?</p>
<p>I think the colleges only know if they ask which colleges you are applying to (For example, Rice University asks on their supplement for you to name the other schools you are applying to).</p>
<p>No college can see the other colleges to which you are applying. That information is accessible only to you and to the Common App support team.</p>
<p>Oberlin’s supplement asks for a list of the place you’re applying to - it’d be a waste of everyone’s time for them to ask if they could already see it :)</p>
