After I sent in my final transcript to Admissions and Outreach, everything in my to-do list was taken off except for the TOEFL computer based. So, I called the Admissions about 2 months ago to ask about TOEFL test, a man told me that as long as I have finished the “CSU golden four” and have 60 transferable units, I’d be fine. And the TOEFL will be waived from my to-do-list after they reviewed my final transcript.

After 2 months waiting, my application status was changed to “Undergraduate clear after provisional admit”, and I was allowed to register for orientation, however, the TOEFL computer based has still remained in my to-do list. This time, I called to the office, and a woman told me that I have to take the TOEFL test if I have not completed 6 full-time semester (3 years) at a community college or at an institution where English is principal language of instruction.

I am very confused right now. I studied ESL for 1 year at an adult education school, and 2 years at my community college. I though TOEFL test is only for international student. So, do i have to take TOEFL test if I am a permanent resident and already completed English composition as well as critical thinking at my community college. And does it affect my admission for Fall 2012.

Thanks a lot in advance.
