Is tomorrow too late?

Does the FAFSA have to be postmarked by Feb. 1, or does it have to be in Brown’s hands by Feb. 1? Because I’m not mailing it till tomorrow…

We CAN send it in online, right?

I think so.

yes, you can send it online ... but it's going to take a day or two to process ... and then it could take up to 2 weeks for Brown to get it ... then it might take a while for Brown to list it as received.

no worries though, b/c that is just the worst case scenario. I sent in my FAFSA on the 25 of January, was processed by US Depart of Ed on the 26, and by January 28 Brown had it ... or so they say on my financial aid thinger.

so it has to be SENT by Feb. 1, right? even if they don't receive it until later...

That's my guess. In general, when colleges set a deadline, it means postmarked/sent. :)

We send it directly to Brown, right? (which address do we use if this is the case?)

Or do we send it to the Dept. of Education? (the FAFSA form says mail it to Federal Student Aid Programs, P.O. Box 7001 etc, but you're all saying Brown received it. w t f? Why is this so confusing?)

If you send it by mail, I think you send it to the Depart of Ed ... right? And then they send it to Brown? The Depart of Ed. needs to process the info first I think. Agh, I'm confused now.

Wait, found it on the Brown Financial Aid website

"Where to Send:

-If applying on-line, the information will be sent to Brown University electronically.
-If completing a paper application, send the completed FAFSA directly to the Department of Education in the envelope included with the application. Your data will be sent to Brown electronically provided you listed Brown University’s school code “003401” in STEP SIX. "

Ok, hope that helps.

Well I hope I can send it in online tomorrow... because that's what I'll be doing. Is this okay??

And hey, if I can't, I can always apply my sophomore year, right? (after having already spent close to $50,000, of course.) :p

yeah I'm gonna be sending it online tonight at about 11, cause I don't get home until 10

but I told my parents a month and a half ago that I needed all this tax info, and nagged 'em about it, so I feel like I did pretty okay in the 'not procrastinating' department

bump...................

I sent it out online and got my parents' pin and my pin in time.

Yippee.

me too :)

yay for procrastination! lol

If you turn it in on Feb 1st, is it on time? or is it late because of the days it takes to process?

no, i think you'll be okay

anyone sending around the date (even if it's the 2nd or 3rd) should be okay
