I see most universities require a minimum 2.0 gpa, but is it possible? I’m transferring/
applying for re-admission from School B back to School A but my GPA at School B is a 2.06 due to receiving a D/F.
But my gpa at school A is a 2.7 because I attended there before.
Do you think I have a possible of being accepted?
I was told to be re-admitted I must have atleast a 2.0 gpa, be in good academic standing with both colleges…Do you think I could go back since I did fine at school A to begin with? or will the D and the F doom me.
I would clarify with school A what their readmission policy is, and whether or not you can apply as a “readmit”, or if you must apply as a “transfer” since you attended another college after you left. Either way, you will need to submit your transcripts from school B to school A.
If A tells you that you still would be considered a “readmit” and you have something in writing via a handbook or otherwise that says as long as you get a 2.0 then you are automatically readmitted, then you should be ok. But, if you will be considered a transfer, or school A’s policy is just that no one with under a 2.0 will even be considered (i.e. there is no mention of guaranteed readmittance) then, you will have a tougher time since your grades dropped after leaving there. The likelihood of acceptance will depend on the school, how selective the admissions process is, and how persuasive you are in your essay. You can certainly try, but generally speaking, the odds are not in your favor. If they turn you down, stay at school B for another semester or two, work hard to get your GPA up, and apply again, if school A is really where you want to be. Possibly school B has an academic renewal policy where you can retake the classes you got a D and F in to get a better grade and have your GPA “renewed” (washed clean of the D and F). I’d look into that if you stay.
I applied under readmission, and my application status online says “readmit w/ transfer work” which confuses me. The requirements for readmit states Must have been in good standing with Dillard University prior to your departure, $25.00 Application Fee
Personal Statement, and the transfer requirements At least a 2.0 cumulative gpa, $36.00 Application Fee, Official copy of all college transcripts.
It’s rolling admissions with a 2.5 gpa for first time students so I guess it’s fairly low ranking, The student body is about 1200 or less, so Idk if it would be considered very competitive compared to most schools. I was hoping my previous attendance and grades would kind of save my butt since I left with passed courses and a 2.75 gpa…
