Is U-M- Ann Arbor overwhelmingly huge?

Clearly there is a huge amount of students there, but are the majority of classes ridiculously huge, lecture-hall type classes? Are there like any smaller setting classes where you'll actually get to know your teacher?

nono.. only intro classes are "riduculously huge". Once you pass your introductory classes (math, chem, etc.) and move on to major specific courses, you'll begin to have professors and smaller class sizes. Also, honors courses are mostly small. Don't worry too much.

You live in SE Michigan. You should make a trip to the campus sometime and attend a class. Math classes and Education classes (your interests if I recall) are typically small, particularly once you get past intro lvels. I never had a math class with more than 25 students at Michigan.

Calc 1 and 2 (Math 115/116) were both 25-30 students (tought by a GSI) but the Math 215 and 216 courses had around 80-100 (tought by a lecturer or professor), but also have lab section (15-20 students with a GSI).
