I got accepted to UC Berkeley. However, it will cost me about $8,000 per year. I will have about $32,000 debt when I graduate. I am majoring in Computer Science and what I have read is that students who graduated from UC Berkeley start at a salary of $80,000. I need to know if going to UC Berkeley worth it?

Yes. That is a very low amount to go to any college, and remarkable for a great university with a fantastic cs reputation. (I thought you were going to ask if full oos sticker price was worth it) That total debt is manageable for a CS major.

You can reduce your debt by working during the summers to contribute a few thousand dollars. Maybe after sophomore but certainly after Jr year you should be able to land an internship. If you are lucky enough to get google, fb, ms, apple etc, you can earn 6,000 per month x 4 months, with relocation and housing included if appropriate. Even if you do not get one of these top slots there are quite a few interesting companies that will still pay quite well, enough to pay some of your loans.
