Hello with the committing deadline looming upon us I have a difficult choice to make (or not so difficult. I have been offered a full ride to UIC, but I’m not a big fan of the campus, and I’ve heard the academics aren’t that great, nor does it offer a “traditional college experience” . It is in Chicago however, albeit in a very bad part of town. On the other hand I loved UMN, and I feel I’d be pretty happy there, as well as a get a good education but I would have a decent amount of debt if I went there. So I was just wondering, based on your own or other people’s experiences, is UMN worth it when compared to a full ride to an okay school?
The debt part is concerning. One option is to go to UIC for the first two years and then transfer to minimize debut if you are truly not liking it there.
