Is Union need-blind in admissions? or need-aware?

“At Union, we have a pretty generous financial aid budget – about $30 million per year. But we are need aware, meaning a student’s ability to pay is factored into whether or not he or she will be accepted.”

[Need blind vs. Need Aware: the realities of helping families finance college | Union College Guidance Blog](http://www.unioncollegeguidance.com/need-blind-vs-need-aware-the-realities-of-helping-families-finance-college/)

That link goes on to explain that while a student may be turned down based on their financial need, if you do get into Union, the package put in place will actually allow you to attend the college. Speaking from personal experience as a current student, I was accepted, and am currently receiving over 30,000 dollars to attend. So despite being from a middle class family, I can actually afford to attend Union and graduate with little to no debt. It is also worth noting that a year’s worth of good grades can earn you more money, as it did for me. I’m not entirely sure if this is something unique to Union but I would suspect that it’s not.
Lastly, and perhaps this is to much information for your question, Union has been ranked in the top 15 for highest average salaries and return on investment amongst peer institutions. So hopefully you’ll get a good job after graduation and be able to pay off any debt.
