is university of bridgeport a good school?

i did do the dual enrollment courses and i have some perspective of the school but i dont know anything outside of class and i dont have anything to compare it to. I thought the education and professors were great but i felt like it was just like my high school. i didnt know if other colleges had harder classes or better education etc.

No, it’s honestly a very poor school academically.

I would not say U of Hartford is poor academically. if you separate out the junior college from the rest of the school it is not a bad place. but until they dump the junior college they get the rep they get. it really is a shame.

@zobroward I was referring to Bridgeport.

bridgeport is a whole other beast. very sad what happened to that school starting in late 80’s early 1990’s.

I don’t think they’re that great tbh.

There grad rates aren’t that great, their academics are average, the areas that they are in aren’t great & they cost a lot.

When I visited UNH I didn’t like it. It felt like they could have better funding for a private school. Nothing looked great about it. The CS department was lackluster imo. It looked like anyone could be the teachers(The head person was an old lady who interrupted everyone , most were decent though & one guy look like a skinny lumberjack). UNH really focuses on criminal justice/forensics & everything else is inconsistent in quality

Overall I think you are paying too much for an average education at those schools. I think you should look at a Connecticut State or search for cheap OOS publics instead for safeties. Quinnipiac is better than those. Try looking at private schools with good financial aid too.

I’ve also read that University of Bridgeport is in a terrible area in Bridgeport & is right next to the ghetto. Some people say that they feel stuck on campus. Not sure about on campus though. You have to use street smarts. At least it’s not too expensive.

Also I know someone who went to UNH & he transferred to Kean. He said that the school was in a bad area but W Haven looked more run down than dangerous to me.
