Is USF a good place to study?

Greetings.
I’m a foreigner and currently I’m considering the opportunity to study abroad (the USA is the priority). I’ve been doing researches about different universities which would be a good place for my undergraduate degree and, in my opinion, USF is one of the best options for me. Although it seems good, I’m still not sure that this is the right place. Could you please answer to the following questions and help me with my choice?
The questions.

  1. Is USF a good university (in general and for international students)?
  2. Could you tell me about its advantages and disadvantages?
3.Are undergraduate studies in computer science or informational technologies good here?
    Thank you in advance.
  1. Yes, USF is a good university. As a tip, learn to use Rate My Professor. It is immensely helpful in weeding out the bad professors (even though you can’t always avoid them). USF is not a great university, but I believe you’ll find it satisfactory.
  2. I can’t speak about any positively distinguishing features, because like I said, it’s a good university, not a great one. It’s a fairly spread-out campus, so be prepared to hustle if you schedule classes back-to-back. They have bikes for rent between class periods if you find yourself short on time. Parking isn’t the best, especially in the fall semester. If you plan to have a car, be prepared to become familiar with remote lots.
  3. I study computer science, so I can tell you with confidence that the quality of the computer science program largely depends on the professors you get (usually only one of each CS/E class is offered each semester). USF artificially limits the capacity of the CS/E programs by putting a low cap on the number of students allowed to register for the first programming class required by both majors, Programming Concepts. I squeezed-in late for that class, somehow, and was lucky enough to get a great professor (who no longer works for USF, unfortunately). I recommend the CS/E programs, they’re interesting, insightful, and definitely engaging.
