Is VCU the right school for me?

I’m a junior and I’m stressing over college. I had good grades during my freshman year, and it all went downhill starting in my sophomore year. My grades are pretty terrible (3.6-3.7 w.gpa iirc) and I don’t know what I’ll do. I haven’t done a lot of extracurricular activities like the other people on these forums :frowning: So far, the only occupation that seems interesting to me is an anesthesiologist, and I know VCU has a decent premed program, but I don’t know if I should worry too much on the undergrad school I go to. I will probably apply to GMU, VT, UVA (won’t get in doe lel), and some other colleges. I had once thought of applying out of state to colleges I once wanted to go such as USC but… I should have studied harder haha.

At this point, I don’t know if VCU would be the right choice for me. I still have the rest of the school year and the summer to reconsider things, but I need to start getting ready for college… I should have tried harder in school :frowning:

TL;DR: Is VCU a good school? Like Pre-Med and stuff. I’m not 100% sure what I’ll do in the future, but anesthesiology seems really interesting and fun, I hope I don’t get as stressed as a lot of anesthiologists do doe o.o

Youngkid, I live in VA and I know students at almost all of the well known colleges in VA including UVA, GMU, VCU William and Mary, CNU, VT and Longwood. They all seem happy with their choices and those who are successful after graduation tend to be the ones who majored in fields that are higher in demand, regardless of which school they attended. You can be totally happy and successful if you go to VCU. Don’t let the ivy-league obsessed people on here make you crazy. Try to keep your grades up to give yourself the most options when the time comes to apply, but don’t fret about going to a “top” school. Take your time and visit a variety of colleges if possible and explore all the possibilities. Know that if you put in good effort and have a good attitude you’ll be successful wherever you attend college.
