<p>If you're premed, it should help you gain experience. Of course, you won't have an official position, but you're only volunteering. You should also try getting a research internship.</p>
<p>Is there a low-income/free medical clinic in the area you could volunteer at? Such a place might allow you to increase your responsibilities, and form stronger bonds with the nurses and doctors, opening other opportunities, or more personalized recommendations.</p>

<p>Everyone is mindlessly saying “it’s not enough”. They’re wrong. I know this is late - but dude, hospital volunteering is really good. Not a lot has commitment for 200 hours. </p>
<p>People on here can be…stupid… and think 500 hours, 4.98 GPA and 2368 SAT score will ONLY get you in to a good college. WRONG. You need to have character into your essays. Your pursue of hospital volunteering can shape that.</p>
