It wasn’t anything life threatening. Just an extremely uncommon condition i was born with that i went to get fixed. Should i write about the surgery and discuss how it made me want to go deeper in to sciences (which i do) or something? I know i could write about how it made me realize the importance of medical technology and doctors (as I’m considering doing medicine) but I’m not sure how the essay will show off my personality or how I am a qualified student.
Please give suggestions as to how to go about this topic if at all.
Thanks
Did the surgery prompt you to dive in deeper in your interest in science? For instance, perhaps as a result you chose to do some independent research on your own and learn more about the type of surgery you had. Maybe it motivated you to take a biology class or an anatomy class at your school. For this to be a compelling topic choice, it has to have inspired you or motivated you to take some action. If it has, this topic could work in showing how the significant event has helped you onto your path for the future. If not, you might want to consider a different topic that speaks to an experience you’ve had that pushed you to take some form of action.
no-its something that happened to you.
Agree — it seems like a passive topic. I’d look for something else.
