haha yep TA3021 that's the kind of person I find really annoying! I'm not degrading any particular major or people who choose to study it, just that "type" of person. There seems to be an abundance of those types here. They try way too hard.

@TA0321

There's nothing wrong with that. It's just the kids who always try to dominate the class discussions only to state something obvious . It's like "No $hit Sherlock. Congratulations. You read pages 23-39."

I wouldn't dismiss someone because they are a hipster though, not that I'm assuming anyone here is.
As long as they sound nice and aren't annoying about such interests, ie. "Why the hell do you like that mainstream sell-out band?!" I'm cool with them, as I would be with any other type of people.

I have recently realized that my school is not filled with idiots, it's just that the idiots speak the most and yell the loudest.
Once I snapped out of my own little world, I realized that there were many smart people in my college, but they just kept to themselves and only shared their knowledge when necessary or put their intelligence into their actual schoolwork.

Sorry if it seemed as if I was implying that all or most extroverts are dumb, but it's just more obvious when a talkative person is stupid...

Idiots are everywhere.

For example,
I did a pre-freshman summer school program and the people there were amazing. Although, they were far from being the ideal genius kid, they were an awesome group of people.

Dorm life
The people on my floor are decent compared with the others. On the other half of the floor are a bunch of people who play video games, are lazy and 2 of them smoke weed. >_<. Granted they aren't all idiots, they just aren't in tune with academics as some people on CC are.

The people that chose to go the summer program seemed to care more about the their education then some of the people that are currently in the dorms.

For the most part school is full of pretty good students, you'l encounter an idiot here and there. That's life...

I got a zero on my first psych lab report freshman fall. I went to the TA to find out what went wrong. She said:

"The answers are right, but you were supposed to report the results with pencil on graph paper, not on the computer. Some computer programs just let you put in the numbers and it makes the graph. [This was 1995.] We want to make sure you know how to do the X and Y axis."

Since I'm a smartass, I said, "Why do you let us use calculators? How do you know we can add?"

She said, "Yeah, I know, but some of the kids don't have this down yet, so that's why we make you do it by hand." IN COLLEGE, PEOPLE.

Sophomore year, I took statistics. The teacher said, imagine there are 8 red marbles and 2 blue marbles in a bag, and if you reach in, you're equally likely to grab any marble. So if you pull one marble out, what are the odds that it will be a blue marble?

Someone answers "2 out of 10," which is correct, but a student raises her hand to argue. "Why isn't it 50%? You said I'm equally likely to grab any marble, so I put 50%."

Since I was still the same smartass, I said, "What if there were a thousand red marbles and 2 blue marbles? Still 50%?"

Yeah, I transferred.

So far, I haven't met very many 'idiots' but yes, there are definitely some.

I think its important to realize that sometimes we ourselves are one of them!
