ISEE Prep help Boston Area

My ds will be applying to Roxbury Latin for admissions to grade 7. He took the ISEE last year and got in the 98% for reading/vocab and reading comp, but only 68% for math. It isn't lack of understanding but failure go go back and check his work that kills him in math. Running out of time isn't the problem either, on the practice exams and during the real test he took last year he had extra time. He is consistant in that he does the same thing with homework, consistently gets a number of answers wrong because of careless errors and failure to recheck his work.

My husband and I have not been able to get through to him and obviously will not be with him during the test to remind him to check his answers.

I am looking for specific recommendations from Boston area folks for individuals who can give ds some coaching to prepare him for the ISEE. He doesn't need tutoring in math but help in his test taking skills. I think he might benefit from a neutral observer.

TIA!

Call Chyten Educational Services (<a href="http://www.chyten.com%5B/url%5D">www.chyten.com</a>)</p>

They are expensive, but they are considered the best in the area for SSAT/ISEE, very good track record.

What is the acceptable ISEE score (in %) for admission to Roxbury Latin? I read it somewhere it is 99% overall score, which is very hard to believe.

Any parent who has a boy got into the 7th grade recently? Any insights?

Thanks in advance.
