Okay, so I've got the ISEE tomorrow, and I'm fine with the verbal and comprehension sections, but the math is really bad for me. I've taken a couple of practice tests and I continuously score low on math but high on english. Math has always been a weakness, and now when I have to make it count, I don't want to do bad. I know it's multiple choice but guessing works both ways. Any last minute tips to actually GET the material, and score decently on the Math sections?

No last minute tips for you - sorry. But I can say that in my family’s experience, the ISEE is a picnic compared to the SSAT! The math test is actually a math test . . . and not a test of how well you can read their really badly worded problem. Also, there’s no penalty for getting a wrong answer (unlike the SSAT). So, just relax and do the best you can. The ISEE people are really just trying to evaluate you - not make you look bad!

I agree with dodgersmom. I like the ISEE much better than the SSAT. I wish that I had taken the ISEE, it sounds much more straightforward. But as for last minute tips, my tip would be to relax. Get a lot of sleep tonight and don’t spend all of today studying. If you’re relaxed, you will do better. Good luck.

i don’t know about the ISEE test… but for math tests, heres some tips:

use scrap paper. don’t try to do everything in your head.
remember key equations/formulas (calculating area, perimeter, circumference, speed/time/distance, mode/median/mean, etc.)
when reading each question, underline what you need to find, and also key values/numbers.
keep a clear head. DON’T RUSH.
check it over and over again.

Thanks for the replies. I did it today, and it wasn’t too hard actually. The results are pending, so, fingers crossed!
