I'm starting to fill out the ISFAA. Here are some questions:

Section A. Part #10: List below the names of the colleges and universities to which you are applying:
Is this question optional? Any suggestions on filling in this part, for example if I send this form to St. Olaf, and I enter Harvard (just kidding) will St. Olaf think I'm considering them my safety?

Section C. Part 21: How will you pay for your transportation to the US: what should I put? Will "aid from college" do me any harm?

You don’t need to tell them which other colleges you are applying to. If aid from the college is the only way for you to pay for transportation to the US, then yes, that’s what you should say. However, you should be aware that not all colleges will do that. And finally, yes, your parents are considered dependent on their income, if this is the question you are referring to: “How many people, including yourself, depend on the income of your parents for daily living expenses?”

Hi!
We have a special situation while filling in ISFAA: calculating its capacity to pay a part of educational cost the parents consider the additional income, which is planned to be received next year from mothers to work out of leave to care for a younger child. We are not able to pay full educational cost, and to pay at least 30% of the cost, mother plans to go to work again. How does college treat it? Will this planned income be taken into account or not? How should we reflect this in ISFAA?

Colleges cannot take future income into account. For visa purposes, they’ll have to certify to the government that you have enough money in the bank right now (when they issue your visa documents) to meet your family contribution for the full academic year ahead.

hey guys,
do i need to show all(i mean each and every) the debts that my family has in ISFAA form. and all the lands and buildings that my family owns . my dad is retired from his post. so my family’s income source is from the dividends and shares. so shall i write my dad’s employment status as unemployed? so do i still need to submit that tax form?

You do have to list all assets, but you don’t need to list all debts if you don’t want to - however, it would be in your best interest to list your debt because you might get more financial aid.

Your dad’s employment status is “retired” and yes, you do need to submit tax forms if you have them. You should also submit bank statements for the investments that your dad is drawing his income from.
