I just got accepted into ISP today and was wondering if anyone on here is/was a member and can vouch for it?
I’m very interested in pursuing a Ph.D and I guess I want to know how ISP will set me up for a fantastic grad school, as well as the national merit of the program as a whole.
Any other tidbits would be interesting too, as in social life, where a good house would be to live, among others. This program is a very big selling point for me for northwestern but unfortunately there isn’t a whole host of information about it online.
S is in ISP and Engineering. He is in his final year and yes, it has helped him get into PhD programs in some of the top schools in his field. ISP is very intense, but the rewards are awesome.
Thanks for the reply. What did your son study at Northwestern? In his (or your) opinion, did he still get exposed to a good amount of people outside of the program? One of the things I’m worried about is that I’ll be in a bubble and only end up talking with ISP people.
Our S is a sophomore in ISP and he’s had time for the NU Jazz Orchestra, club soccer and being active in his fraternity, so he has many friends outside of ISP. He loves it!
