What is the difference between having IT certificates and actually majoring in Bachelor's degree in IT? I was interested in doing something IT but also some majors in Liberal Arts. However, since I do not want to major in IT necessarily, I just want to earn few certificates. Would they be worthless? What would be the difference?

Difference is that many entry level IT jobs require you to have a degree or they will not consider you.

The certificates are not worthless per se, a lot of business revolves around technology these days. Having such certificates can allow you to move into a role in the future which merges the business and technology aspects, i.e. a business analyst (IT role).

Hope this helps, feel free to ask more if you need.
