I was wondering, anybody know what are some of the best IT certifications for recent graduates of information systems to earn? I've heard A+ and Network are good. Any others? Thanks.

A+ and Network + certifications are vendor-neutral, meaning you wont be restricted in your career to a single operating system. With an emphasis on the expertise needed to work as a computer service technician, troubleshooting and repairing PCs. I have an MCSE and that has worked well for me. I think that the security field and Cisco are always safe. Start with A+ and Network +, and then go through MCSA/MCSE. MCSE is pretty much MCSA but with 2 more exams. Getting certfications never hurt, many organizations and [technical staffing](http://www.gtssminds.com/what-we-do/it-staffing.htm) services have found certified technicians to be more productive than their noncertified counterparts.

I know a few GE businesses like to see MCSE, Java, JSP, PHP, MySql, Oracle is a big one too… we are heavily rooted in online -most everything in fact.
