I thought Stanford didn't do interviews...?

But anyways, you have a great shot. I think your ecs are great and your grades and scores aren't bad either. And you're an URM. A very similiar guy from my school got in EA.

You're a low-income URM with a high GPA and ACT, excellent honors/awards, and good ECs. I'd say it's a match (70%). (Being a female going into the sciences also gives you an edge.)

nngm:
i was only saying that if she didn't get it, the only way i could rationalize that outcome would be to blame it on her ECs. they are good but pretty standard; lots of leadership positions though. it will really come down to how involved she is/was in them.

^^^
i don't think you are understanding what i'm saying. a lot of kids applying to stanford are good debaters, and raising two cousins on 20k is a special circumstance not an EC. i never said that her circumstances were generic, they are truly exceptional. anyways, of her VERY strong profile, her weakest link, in my opinion would be her ECs for reasons already stated. (to the OP, this does not mean that i think that your ECs are bad. they are great. it's just that i think that the rest of your application will help you stand out from the other stanford applicants more if that makes sense.)

ECs have to be taken into context, and in this context, they're very strong. The OP is president of three clubs and secretary for two. Given all her awards, responsibilities, and income, that's pretty extraordinary. I'd say that, within context, her ECs are much better than the large number of Stanford admits.
