<p>I agree that the BFA programs are well-known. I live on the other side of the country, and several of our local high schools send multiple students to Ithaca College every year. </p>
<p>Many of them (though by no means all) go there to study performing arts.</p>
<p>My son was just accepted into the Theatre Arts Mgmt (TAM) program at Ithaca College. Can anyone share their experience/knowledge of this program? He is also considering Fordham and SUNY Geneseo. Thanks.</p>
<p>Ithaca has strong programs in music, phys ed, PT, communications and maybe others. You should definitely check the individual department. DH went there (media/comm) and three of his best friends were photo majors.
They are very good photographers, but it is very tough to make a living in that field.</p>
<p>We are looking at Ithaca next week. D would be a performing arts major. (A total guess is that it would be better to major in theater mgmt at Ithaca or Fordham than at Geneseo, because their theater programs are better.) D knows several who study there in different fields and all are happy. I noticed that Ithaca students are allowed to take classes at Cornell and visa versa-- but I think the schedules may not mesh very well.</p>
