Ithaca EA '21

@2manypets and @eandesmom, have you received the actual financial aid letter yet? My son’s merit awards were part of his acceptance package, the financial aid package was sent separately and a bit later. This may bring additional $$ to you.

@Peonymom yes, we received the FA letter. I don’t count subsidized loans as aid  It is the most expensive on his list.

My D and I took advantage of the MLK holiday by driving up to Ithaca yesterday to explore the area…what a beautiful college town it is! I can see why Ithaca, NY was recently voted as a Top 5 college town!

I understand - I was thinking of non-loan options. S received less from other places, more from Ithaca. Crazy process.

Our D was just accepted with a $17k scholarship. Ithaca is one of her top choices, so she’s very excited. The letter mentions just one accepted students weekend, which unfortunately we have a conflict for. Does anyone know if there are additional dates? I realize we can visit anytime, but it would be nice to have her visit when a lot of others are visiting too.

My son was accepted back in early December with $20k in merit. But we have not seen anything from need-based financial aid yet. Where would we find that info.?

@EASmall you should have received a letter detailing all of your FA. We received ours pretty quickly after acceptance. Did you fill out the FAFSA and the CSS Profile?

Have early action decisions come out? A friend applied, but still hasn’t heard back. Is this a fluke?

I believe that EA notification is by February 1. It appears to have been rolling we heard in December. We also received our FA letter fairly quickly after the acceptance, if you’ve not heard yet I would call and make sure they have your FAFSA and your profile.

For what it’s worth, I believe that RD is rolling now as well. We have a friend who applied RD and they have heard.however, they haven’t received a FA letter yet

Thanks for the info. I called Financial Aid and they confirmed that our FAFSA and profile are in and that we should hear “sometime before April 15.” He got his EA acceptance on December 2 and his financial aid stuff was done in October. Weird that we haven’t heard, but at least we are still in the pipeline.

well maybe that means you’ll get aid! We did not so that might be a very good sign.
