Ohhh nooo, another non-academic CC thread that has dissolved into an ACADEMIC one!

Lol, I’m not surprised.

Unfortunately, I went out to see a movie on Friday instead of commenting on this thread. I’m not too late, though. Today’s only…Sunday? Saturday? Oh, it’s Sunday. Ok. /endramble

The funny thing I’ve noticed about the writing section is I think a huge part of it is simple mastery of the English language. So much of it is just the nuances of what sounds good when you write and that makes it very difficult to learn. There are of course general rules that are followed. Unfortunately practice is the only way to efficiently prepare for the SATs.

@nate42: I improved on the writing section from a 58 on the PSAT to a 75-80 on MC. Basically all you have to do is learn the grammar concepts that ETS hits on the test, and then the error just jumps out at you. I would highly recommend reading the tips out of the BB as well as Sparknotes’ 7 Deadly Mistakes
for a general overview.

Friday was the day after the last day of school for me so I had some friends spend the night. After they left I played Roller Coaster Tycoon (incredible game) and read parts of Steve Jobs’ biography. (side note: has anyone read the Steve Jobs book and if so, what did you think of it, and him as a person). Anyways, Saturday morning at 7 I left for an AAU basketball tournament in Lexington, so I’ve been playing basketball all weekend…now I’m just chillin in my hotel room!
