it's all us: Rising Seniors '06, aka future class of 2010!

Time flies, doesn't it?

It feels like yesterday I was a little freshman still obsessed with videogames and completely clueless and just bumbling along the road of life. I've changed so much in 3 years, it's ridiculous. Now I'm a rising senior, ready to go to college! The one thing I've learned in high school is that nothing can stop you if you want it badly enough. Before a game against a much bigger, stronger, physical team, our football coach said, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog". It may be a little crude, but it basically sums up the lessons I've learned in the classroom and on the field. I may not have been academically or athletically endowed, but I've learned in high school that I have something deep down that's going to keep me going when others fail. Anyways, sorry if I'm being super nostalgic or whatnot, now that junior year is over, I keep reflecting back on my high school career for some reason.

Most likely I will be applying EDII to Wesleyan, but I'm still not completely sure yet.

i am applying EA to harvard, or MIT, or Princeton, or Yale, or Cal Tech, or Duke, or Brown, or UCLA, or Berkley....thinking more realistically: UCSD

Ahhhhh!!!!!!! It is sooooooo weird to be posting this. It seems just like yesterday I was ooing and ahing about all the seniors who got to begin their lil journeys. And now it is sooooooo us. Oh by the way I should totally be a senior member by now, but I forgot my password and changed e-mail addresses. ARG for that.

So back to the question. I am applying ED to WUSTL.

hey wraider what do you think are the best parts about wesleyan?? im torn between applying ED to there, or vassar

kinda mad i wish i had graduated early...another year of listening to crappy teachers at this godforsaken high school.

Greenmoon33- I loved the political activism; it seemed like people actually cared about world issues. There wasn't any of that preppy, snobbish mentality that I found in the more prestigious schools. People were loose and friendly, they weren't crawling over each other to get the best test scores and grades, although many clearly worked hard and studied hard in classes.

It's close to home, about 2 hours drive from Boston. It's a DIII school, so I'd be able to play football. They also have a nice fitness center/athletic complex and library, and clean, well furnished dorms that are well accessible. I also heard Middletown has nice restaurants, theaters, etc.

I started a topic in the Wesleyan subforum if you want to respond more specifically.

I'm pretty excited. So excited, in fact, that I am ripping my hair out for when college apps are released so I can start!

ED Wharton
