It's Not Over 'Til It's Over

When I was in high school the two top students at my former public school applied to two colleges - Harvard and Ohio State. As you might guess, they both ended up at Ohio State. Both became doctors and are living good lives but I do sometimes wonder if they missed out on some world-expanding experiences and opportunities by not considering a few more schools. Or, at least missed out on the opportunity to have choices in their college decisions.

All this is to say, there are still boarding schools out there that are accepting applications. They are not Andover or Exeter but they have beautiful campuses and amazing faculty and kids from around the country and around the world. If you were applying for boarding school, not for the prestige, but for the world-expanding experience of going somewhere else, the 24/7 intensity of living with your classmates and teachers, and/or the chance to do a little growing up, I'd urge to consider applying to these other schools.

Do you think there's aid left at any schools? More than just a ""discount?"

If you don't ask you will never know.

Yes, I think there is aid left. I know that we have only just started making FA determinations. That said, as you know, you can't expect the lesser endowed schools to just give it all away. They have bills to pay, too. I know, though, that they are eager to speak with families that can meet them somewhere between full pay and full need.
