OH YEAH!

Congratulations to all! Hopefully we can all meet up next year in South Bend =)
Looks like CC has a 100% admit rate from ND so far.

I like it.

Congrats everyone! Notre Dame is a great place to be. You'll have a fantastic time.

I'm accepted wahooo!

Congrats mandorf and everyone. CCGmom is right--Notre Dame is a great place to be!

Hey, everyone want to post stats or not?

If you don't want to, that's fine, but here's the form every one else is using: http://www.ubermeese.com/format.txt. Just copy and paste it and put your stats after all of the colons.

Here, I'll start:

Decision: Accepted

Stats:
[ul]
[]ACT: 35
[]SAT IIs: 730, 740, 800
[]GPA: 3.973 UW 4.073 W
[]Rank: Top 2%, 8/304
[]Other stats: 3 on AP Euro, 5 on AP Stats, National Merit Semifinalist, etc.
[/ul]
Subjective:
[ul]
[]Essays: I wrote about the conquering fear one, about how I was seven and there was a monster in my window and it was because the blinds were open and I got up and closed the blinds and went to sleep. :P Nothing Pulitzer-worthy, don't worry.
[]Teacher Recs: I think they were pretty good
[]Counselor Rec: He likes me, but he's the school's football coach so who knows how much he put into it.
[]Hook (if any): Someone close to me passed away about a year ago, and I still got straight A's last semester...I think my recs were based on this fact.
[/ul]
Location/Person:
[ul]
[]State or Country: WI
[]School Type: Public, but competitive in our area
[]Ethnicity: White
[]Gender: Female
[/ul]
*Other Factors: *
[ul]
[] I think I covered everything
[/ul]

General Comments: Does anyone who goes to ND know how highly "Notre Dame Scholars" are looked on? Is it anything special? What does it even mean?

haha i'm dying

ACCEPTED!!!!!!! I'm from Minnesota. Hooray!

ddjones: You must be my twin sister, although my d got deffered at Princeton ED....but I had all types of fantasies about running to her school with her acceptance. Only..................a small envelope came with her deferral and I sobbed for one-half hour. She was out of state at a tournament at the time with her Dad. Thank goodness I wasn't the one that had to tell her. She is now applying RD at ND...........

I just got my Acceptance! You can add New York to the list.

MommyPain, the night before the letter came, I was twisted in knots while the two oldest men of the house--my husband and my high school senior--were almost amused. After all, they both reasoned, the decision has already been made--worrying won't help it any. (Yet another concrete example of Men from Mars, Women from Venus :) )

In any event, at that point I asked my son what he'd do if he were rejected or deferred, and he said, in all earnestness, "Mom, if I don't get into ND, then it must be for a reason...there must be something else intended for me...."

Maybe your daughter's deferral from Princeton is because there is a better path awaiting her. Given that Princeton's early decision is binding (it is, isn't it?), there's a very good possibility she may come to find out that one of the other schools her early D app precluded her from submitting is actually the best place for her.

As an ND alum, you bet I'm biased, but ND is nothing to shake a stick at. Princeton's loss may well be ND's--and your daughter's--gain!

Hang tuff, MP, worry-warts though we may be, when push comes to shove, we moms can withstand just about anything!

**General Comments: Go Irish? LOL. ND was one of my top choices for college (GU Georgetown being the top), but we'll see in April.. This acceptance had made me SO HAPPY from the deferral from GU. Not to sound superficial, but it has.. (I'm a regular member of the GU board here on CC.. you can see my disappointment)
