CLOSE OF THE BUSINESS DAY ON THURSDAY

Yep, Dec 11. Real deal.

I HAVE to ask, “How do you know?”

@WaitingED they sent an email about an hour ago… I’m flipping out :O

@nervoustudent @greatcr7 Does anybody know what “at the close of business” means? I’m assuming 5pm EST…

Yeah I think around 5. Not exactly though, necessarily

@tarikd I have no idea… My guess is 5 as well.

Good luck everyone!!! Hope we all get in (or at least get deferred)!!! fingers crossed XX

“at close of business” means exactly what it says. Historically, bankers hours= 4pm. I have no idea when they “close” on that day. But I will be checking from two o’clock on!!!

^^
The admissions office closes at 5PM. You will not be notified until after no one is answering the phones.

Good luck!

@Crewdad That makes perfect sense. Thank you!

" At the close of business on Thursday, December 11, 2014, you will be able to login to our information management system…to access your admission decision online."

Vassar just posted this on Instagram http://instagram.com/p/wY4IUYqsh3/

Not that this year has to be like last year, but last year they also said it would be by close of business, and the first person to declare that they were accepted came at 11:04 a.m. Good luck to everyone. I am not allowed to look before my daughter does, but no way would I even want to.

I hope it comes a lot sooner than 5… I work in a school 7:00 - 3:30 and then at my mom’s office in a cubical until 5:30… I want to find out before I’m at my mom’s work so that I can hide if I’m rejected ^.^

The timestamp is irrelevant unless you know what time zone the post originated. Or, even if the post originated in EST, the computer’s clock might have been set a to different time zone. I can post at ~1:34PM but have it appear I was posted at ~8:34AM by changing my computer’s clock to UTC–like so.

@stepay do you know if the application portal will go down before we’re able to check? Or will it just stay open the whole time?

@tarikd - I’m sorry, but I do not know the answer to that question.
