It's that time of year again: End of the year teacher GIFT suggestions!

This is the official thread of end of the year gift suggestions for your teachers...so you...can suck up to them!

Help me pick gifts for the following teachers:

1) History teacher, male/white, mid-age (40s), likes history, reads lots of books, big music fan, likes European soccer

2) Math teacher, female/white, soccer mom

3) Japanese teacher, female/Taiwanese, in the 50s, likes traveling, interested in Japanese culture

4) Biology teacher, very young (20s), female/white, hippie

5) English teacher, white/middle-age mom (30s), likes fiction books

6) Psychology, white/middle-age, likes psychology/humanistic perspective (40s)

Help me out here! I prefer anything that is sold on Amazon.com, I have a $100 budget.

What are you planning to give your teachers? Or you can post here so we can post recommendations.

Get your biology teacher a John Lennon album, and get your English teacher a David Baldacci book. lol

Hey!!! Long time, no chat!
End of the year already…

My suggestions:

1) My history teacher has this book about 1964 (history of) and I forgot the name of it, one of my classmates read it and said it was really good. Message me later and I’ll tell you the name of it if I remember to ask him today.

2) Sunglasses, or a gift certificate for sunglasses.

3) This could be kind of strange…but: [Amazon.com: Miniature Shodo Japanese Calligraphy Gift Set, incl. Calligraphy Brushes, Ink Grinding Stone, Ink Stick, Porcelain Brush Holder, etc…: Everything Else](http://www.amazon.com/Miniature-Shodo-Japanese-Calligraphy-Porcelain/dp/B000N21GHQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1210832759&sr=1-3)
Or maybe a magazine subscription?
[Amazon.com: Women’s Interest - Magazine Subscriptions / japanese / Amazon.com: Magazines](http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_n_18?ie=UTF8&rs=599872&keywords=japanese&bbn=602372&rnid=599872&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ajapanese%2Ci%3Amagazines%2Cn%3A602372)

4) manicure…or does she like tea? adagio.com sells a great starter set that I love! This one is hard…

5) One of the twilight set by that Mormon lady, or her new adult fiction book. This woman my mom’s age at work is addicted to them.

6) One of these lecture sets? They are expensive, but maybe you and your friends could pool some money together. The ones on sale are better priced, of course. One of my teachers loves these; she plays them in her car and listens for hours/the length of her car ride. She loved the world religions or cultures one, I forgot which…

[Social Sciences Courses](<a href=“Shop Courses | Plus”>Shop Courses | Plus)

Anyways, I hope that helps somewhat, although I may have blown your budget…I am too tired to count the cost. This may help you brainstorm at lleast :D

Good luck!
Tell me if you need more help later.

Ahhhh!!! I posted the magazine subscription, and it costs $400!!! That is ridiculous. But maybe you can find something similar somewhere, that is cheaper? Or a book?

why get a gift to suck up, are you going to have them again next year or something??? Just wondering

my biology class got my teacher a DVD for christmas… that was fun haha

i usually only give end-of-the-year presents to one or two teachers i actually really like. this year, since i’m a senior, i got my two teachers who did my recommendations and my guidance counselor mugs from the college i’ll be going to, filled with candy.

i don’t think i can help you out much. i always think nice notes are the best touches

I would suggest sending thank you letters over gifts. It’s what I’m doing for my favorite teachers. It’s something that you can put your praise and appreciation for your teachers into, which matters more than a gift.

I totally agree with the thank you letters. I will be doing the same.

this thread is sad

uhhhhhhh your history teacher sounds like middle-aged, male version of me.
you could use that exact wording(" likes history, reads lots of books, big music fan, likes European soccer") to describe me.
haha that’s wierd.

This isn’t sad, some people are really close with their teachers.
We bought one of the teachers at my school a wii. We all pitched in money for it this past Christmas. My teachers have done so much for me, and giving them a gift is just to let them know I appreciate it.

I will also write a thank you letter. I think for some of my teachers I will just give them gift cards. Can’t go wrong with gift cards…

Oh! Get a footie scarf for the teacher that likes european soccer :D

Dang..if only my teachers liked football, I’d be showering them with pre-rec gifts ;)

Teacher’s pet!

Money is always a nice gift, but I find it works better when you give it to a teacher at the beginning of the school year.

I’m giving Lindt truffles with personalized thank-you notes attached.

Money??? Wouldn’t they find that offensive???

get them all a basket of cookies, you can’t go wrong there…
Problem Solved.

^
LOL… or are you being serious?
If you are…just in case… that dude was saying how you should bribe the teacher… for good grades…

Yeah, but I want to give them something they will remember.

Fine… get them cookies with a cookie jar, that way the cookies jar will sit on their counter top forever… and create clutter…and they don’t forget you…
Thats what people do to my mom…LOL I’ll ask where did you get this jar from? and she’ll always remember who gave it to her…
I’m being half serious…

friedrice,

Don’t take everything so seriously. It was a joke.
