IU Bloomington or Illinois Champaign-Urbana for Education Major

Hey everyone I am planning on majoring on education possibly with a concentration in Spanish so that I could teach spanish. I am picking between IU-Bloomington and UIUC and I am having a hard time picking. Price isn't a deciding factor for my family. Which school do you think I should choose considering my major?

Thanks!!!

As you’re studying Education, I think the 2 main considerations would be:

Which of the local school districts would you rather have your practicals in? Is one more diverse than the other? Maybe you’d like to get some experience of teaching Spanish to students for whom English isn’t even their first language? Or an inner city? Somewhere rural? You might want to ask each department where their placements are normally located.

Where would you rather live for the next 4 years? The colleges seem pretty similar themselves in size etc. So look at the off-campus environment. How’s transport around town? Any sketchy areas near campus you’d want to avoid? Are there enough cinemas, theatre, sports teams etc? Maybe there’s a sport or activity you’d like to try at college? If you want to do sailing, you want to choose the college with the State Park close-by.

Indiana is better overall for undergrad.
