Hi everyone, I have been accepted to both schools for business. My intended major is finance. Which would be a better school if I want to work as an IB in the future? I also would like to double major in accounting.

Were you accepted to McCombs honors?

If accepted to BHP, Austin will give you a leg up.

If not, it’s a toss up. Go for price, fit and where you’d rather work post-college. Obviously UT Austin will have a stronger brand name/placement in Texas, IU in Chicago. Both are excellent programs that can get you in IB (although not easy by any means).

I’m not accepted into any honors program, just the regular course. I was leaning more toward UT-Austin, but IU is giving a larger scholarship

I am very familiar with both schools. You can’t go wrong with either one. People fall in love with Austin and don’t want to leave. IU is just about the perfect campus and college experience. Both have outstanding business schools. Good luck! Football or basketball? :)

Hey thanks Momofwildchild. I got a chance to visit both schools, and absolutely fell in love with both schools. But in terms of job opportunities, salary, internships, etc I feel like UT would be better than IU. But there’s just something about the tradition at IU that attracts me to it. Haha this is definitely a tough choice

I think a lot of top employers are very plugged into IU, so I wouldn’t worry about that.
