IU Chemistry Department for Pre-Med?

Calcruzer,

Thanks for the great info. It (C-341) does look like a tough one. However, the distribution is not unreasonable. The things troubled me were the high F(33) and W(134). I heard about that 400 potential Pre-med students entering into the college ended up with 150 applicants for medical school. And, 75 of the 150 students usually get accepted by , at least, one medical school. The students getting B or above totaled 134 from a total class of 432. This is not too far from the 150/400 ratio. It is reasonable to say that a student needs to get B+ or above for this course to keep pursuing Pre-med considering there might be other professors offering the same course.

I also found the course S-341 by Prof. Aron.

Total: 42 students enrolled. 28 students got B+ or above. The Honor students had an average GPA of 3.68 with a course GPA of 3.08 while the regular students had an average GPA of 3.2 with a course GPA of 2.4. From what I see, the honor class may not be any easier. The grade distribution may be similar (I do not believe that the section GPA was correct probably due to the F/W grade.). I am wondering if the tests for the two classes are the same though.
