IU Early Action Acceptances - Class of 2025

Date applied 9/9
Date accepted 11/3
Gpa 4.14 w
No scores
Oos
3 honor societies, varsity sport, competitve dancer, solid essay

This is my second time around with this process. When my son applied to IU in 2017, he received a decision within 10 days. I see varying timeframes between application and decision but wondered if that could be attributed to when the student application was complete? For anyone that got in, how long between the time your application was complete to the time you received your decision?

-applied: 10/15
-accepted: 11/3
-GPA: 3.01 UW, 3.0 is an honor roll (private school)
-ACT/SAT: n/a
-Super good extracurriculars: internships, multiple jobs and volunteering (i also used the kelley resume format)
-Applied to the College of Arts and Sciences as a psychology BS major

Does anyone know if they are only releasing decisions on Tuesdays?

@H0llyw00d so far it’s been that way the past 3-4 Tuesdays…

Applied 10.3 - everything was complete at the time of submission, if anything the test scores arrived by 10.5 at the latest because ACT is quick

Accepted on portal 10.27

Snail mail letters (admissions and scholarship) were dated 10.30

@fanoffriends Thank you! I think my daughter’s application was marked complete on 10/27, so it sounds like it may be another couple of weeks.

@H0llyw00d same timing for my son - submitted 10/15 but not marked as complete until 10/27…hopefully next Tuesday??

Applied October 8th
Officially accepted November 5th (comes out earlier if you regularly check application status on one.iu.edu)
GPA: 3.13 (only i know)
SAT: 1360
Out of state
Solid essay and well rounded, faced setback in middle of high school that made schoolwork not my top priority but still persevered

Hi,
How did you know if you got a scholarship? Was it in that initial email sent or did you get it in the mail?

@vanlyssel, I hope so! It seems like a three-week turnaround, so I was thinking it may be at least one more week. Fingers crossed for a decision sooner rather than later!

@ssslant once the snail mail arrives it contains letters from admissions and scholarship office.

For those who saw acceptances on the application portal, does it say it after the box of text information (i.e. institution, term, program, etc)?

@skkm0906 they plug in verbiage under the box that says:

Academic Institution Term Academic Career Program Academic Plan Application Date

Mine says
“Bloomington
Fall 2021
Undergraduate
University Div Pre-Business
Finance BSB
10/23/2020” But there doesn’t seem to be anything about being accepted. I was expecting to hear from them sometime soon.

Below that, it also notes “Thank you for submitting your application materials; your application is complete. Please consult our Deadlines page at admissions.indiana.edu/apply/deadlines.html to see when you should receive a response.”

yep i have the same thing, my date is 10/19/2020 I’m hoping I hear back today, but it will probably be next week.

@KyNizzy The “thank you…” section is the area where the Congratulations will be noted so focus on that spot and look carefully because it’s easy to initially think it is the same old thing you’ve been used to seeing there.

keep us posted and GOOD LUCK!

what time to decisions usually come out?

@telions I thought they came out between 4 & 5 EST on Tuesdays, but I may be wrong. We are patiently waiting for a decision.

@H0llyw00d When did you submit your application?

Responding for son, no email but checked portal late afternoon. It updated sometime during the day because the congratulations message was not there earlier in the day.

Applied: 10/12/20 OOS
Accepted: 11/10/20
GPA: 4.33 w / 4.0 uw
