IU, TCU, or UGA

I am stuck between these schools. Interested in Finance any input would be great!

Great options.

Any significant difference in COA among these three universities ?

Since you are a direct admit to Kelley at Indiana University, IU should be your top choice if COA is reasonable & affordable.

Have you visited? You can reach your goals from any of them and should choose based on fit. If you’re interested in IB, IU would have a slight edge if you’re a top student able to get into the IBW. IB from UGA would require you to be in honors. Not that knowledgeable about TCU.

To add onto the others - three great but different choices.

UGA is fine - Terry School - you go in as an intended major and move in 2nd semester 2nd year. It’s a sprawling campus - really big - and neat as the football stadium is smack in the middle. You’ll have SEC sports.

IU has direct admit if you got it. A large, but not sprawling campus. Both Athens and Bloomington are considered great college towns. Bloomington is known for its food variety. Of the three, it’s the most “elite” school although that means little depending on what your future looks like. If you want a corporate type job, it won’t matter.

TCU is smallest, really nice campus and I’ve read great comments about dorms and food there. Several have commented that it’s a high riser in the poets & quants rankings. There’s a lot of rankings out there - so you take that for what it’s worth.

Bottom line - all three are solid and then some. If you have to fly to any of them, TCU will be closest to the airport - both IU and UGA will be an hour / hour 15 or so.

Best of luck.

All are within 10k.

I love the idea of being in the south the most but am interested in getting into private equity, investment banking, or another top paying banking job. I feel like I may enjoy the South a bit more but it feels hard to turn down Kelley.

Thank you very much. I’m interested in a top banking or finance related job so it feels hard to turn down Kelley. It seems like you need to attend a top grad school anyway for the top jobs so does undergrad really matter all that much?

And is IU still worth it over UGA and TCU if I can’t get into the IBW?

UGA the cheapest, IU and TCU tied.

Thank you for your reply.

Did you get honors for UGA? It is harder to break into IB from Kelley if you’re not in the IBW, but not impossible. From UGA it is much harder from outside of the honors college, but not impossible. I would still recommend choosing based on fit.

Not in honors at UGA. The IBW is insanely competitive so not worth going if that is what makes it better than others.
