IU vs SMU for Undergrad Business

Hi everyone, I’m having trouble in deciding which school would be better from me for undergrad. First of all, I unfortunately missed the scholarship deadline for IU so I would be paying full price (OOS) for it, which is around $45K. My net price for SMU is ~$35K. I love both schools and I know they have strong business programs. However, IU is ranked significantly higher than SMU for business. If I were to attend IU I would probably have to take out some loans.

My plan after undergrad is hopefully to place into a well-ranked business school to obtain an MBA. My question is: what school would be better for that and why? Do business schools care about the prestige of the undergrad? If it’s IU, is it worth the ~$40K in debt after undergrad?

Thanks.

SMU has an excellent business school. I wouldn’t go into $40,000 in debt for IU, particularly if you can graduate debt free from SMU. By the way, have you seen the campus?
