<p>since Columbia is a dream school of mine as well. And I can say is it broke my heart to read about all these great kids being rejected and deferred. Congratulations to those who did get it, but to those who didn't, hold your head up high, it's their loss, you are worth so much more than this.</p>
<p>We can all just pray that things work out, like they always do, in the end.</p>
<p>I want to add, from the perspective of a parent, I would have taken all of you if I'd been on Columbia's admissions committee. What amazing people have posted here!</p>
<p>Those who got rejected or deferred -- it doesn't mean you won't get into a great, great school. It just means that this year in this round at Columbia, maybe they got a ton of New York piano playing soccer goalies or pre-med Southern bassoonists who started their own businesses, or middle-western newspaper editors who also speak Ancient Greek. When you go on to apply somewhere else, you will be the exact goalie or bassoonist or editor they are looking for! Good, good luck from here on out.</p>
