I've been waiting for weeks to start this thread; Which college to attend?

Graduate school programs are familiar with grading policies/styles at related undergraduate programs so don't worry about "grade deflation". Grad admission will depend on the coursework you take as an undergrad, your grades in those courses, your GRE exam score(s), letters of recommendation from your undergraduate faculty, and any research projects you were involved in. If you are serious about grad school, take another look at how easy it would be for you to get involved in research while an undergrad.

As an international student, you also have to think about where you want/expect to work after completing your degree. If you are going home, a degree from one particular university or another may be more valuable in that job market.

All the best.

Thanks happymom. I guess it's gonna be Cal then ...

Congrats :)

Bah. Another issue. I just realized that Virginia Tech's 20k p.a. cheaper. And I can't help but wonder if the undergrad education at UVa'd be better than that at Cal. :S

Go to Cal only if you know you can get great grades. Our group just rejected someone graduating from Cal majoring in EECS with a 3.3 uw GPA. The point is not everybody will go WOW, you graduate from UCB engineering school, please take this job. It's not a done deal.
