Hey guys, I have applied to USNA. It is my dream school. I'm applying there and Texas A&M only (Corps of Cadets NROTC there if I dont get USNA). I have received an LOA; i got one of the first ones in early September. The only problem is I have been DQ-ed due to my history of concussions. I do not have a serious condition, or anything that could deter me from serving. I have made this clear in my waiver request, and have gotten a neurologist, my water polo coach and my swimming coach to write letters making this clear. Here is my question: IF I have an LOA, and no life-threatening condition, what are the chances i get that waiver and can attend my dream school?

Getting a medical waiver to pass the DODMERB physical is different from getting a LOA. I am not a doctor and can’t say what is/is not important as it relates to passing the DODMERB physical or which specific medical conditions have the potential for getting a waiver. I doubt that letters from coaches (who are most likely not medical professionals) expressing their opinion makes any difference on medical related issues.

This other forum site has a DODMERB section where people actually associated with the process can offer advice on what to do next. There isn’t much value in asking for random opinions here on medical related issues.
