Okay so as everyone knows today was the AP English Literature and Composition test. So with about 30 minutes left in the test my counselor walks in and says that we must close our books and the test is over. My first reaction is that someone cheated (but I know my class well, and they would never do that), I come to find out some immature coward at my school called in a bomb threat, causing the school to evacuate and in essence making all of us have to retake the test. Not only was I breezing through the test, but our makeup day is seniors last day of school. Usually we have going away parties, yearbook signings, giving out of senior pictures, taking our last group pictures in school, you know what I'm talking about. Now all of that is ruined and I am beyond angry. Sorry for the rant, but has anyone else have there AP test cancelled like this before?

dude that sux nad is totally unfair...do u think u can just have it graded?

Damn man that's a bummer. The kid better hope you guys don't find out who he is.

No, my counselor called the AP testing center and said we must all retake both sections.

If it's any consolation (though, at best, it probably won't be a lot :(), I felt that last year's AP Lang make-up (which I took) was much easier than the regular one all my friends took.. well, at least it sounded like that the way everyone was ranting about the random topics on flamingos and taxes and whatnot.

thats when you cancel your test, i wouldn't take it again.

that would **** me off so bad, dude.... if i found out who did something like that I would make their life a living hell.

I wouldn't do the make-up. You don't want to miss the last day of school. If I were you, I would just enjoy your last day...screw the exam!

I would totally take it. I took the Ap test and it was fun. Oh wait, are the AP ninjas going to come and swoop me up because I mentioned the difficulty of the exam!??!

skip the test, why bother, and that is coming from a mom, unless you can opt out of a class in college, which you can check on, what would be the pioint of taking the test?

I remember that flamingo essay question. It was really random. Anyways my teacher is making it a requirement that we take, or we need to do a very large project to make up for it. Another thing is that I will be going to Rutgers next school year and I've heard that the intro writing class is hell, passing the test waives that course. I still dont' know what to do. I guess I'll take it, hopefully I'll let the anger subdue by then.

how can he make you do a project the last day

i wouldn't take it. the only reason for APs is so you can get some college credit, and most colleges make you take an intro writing course regardless.

go enjoy your last day!

is passing the test enough to waive it or do you need a 4 or 5,,,,double check that, I just did, you need a 4 or a 5....

I think you need to get the parents together and fight this, IMO, the teacher is being a jerk

Ouch. That really sucks. Especially seeing as you were almost done. We had a fire alarm in our school right before our AP Calculus test. But we didn't cancel testing since it happened before the proctoring began (sorta wishing we did now though). Are you sure it was someone in your English class though? It's probably someone else; wouldn't some person taking the test have had to somehow contact someone outside the school and get them to call in about a bomb threat?

-The Threatening Coot66

The AP teacher is a really nice lady, but she told us at the start of the year her class was designed around the test. I haven't had her since the incident (APUSH test the very next day and its now the weekend) and won't see her till Tuesday because Monday is a schoolwide community service day for our school. The project for those who decided they weren't going to take the test before the day of the incident was to perform in our schools Shakespeare fest by performing a scene, and had to write a paper analyzing a collection of Shakespeares works. Since Shakespeare fest is over she wants us to choose an author, read two books from that author, and write a biography and writing style paper and then do the same thing for Shakespeare. Then do a compare and contrast project showing how literature has evolved.

I talked to my counselor and I was hoping she could convince the AP testing center to send the test early so we could retake it earlier. I want to take and past the test and I know I can get a 4. Oh and it was not someone from my class, I know them and they would never do that.
